Invite a Newcomer to Dinner

Newcomers want to make lasting friendships and become active and accepted members of their new communities ….  sometimes this can be difficult.  Long time community residents can be polite and friendly, but perhaps do not take that next step to initiate a real friendship and make newcomers feel truly welcome.

Invite a Newcomer to Dinner is a program designed to help bridge this gap. The dinner invitation is the traditional South Shore welcome.  Many lasting friendships are forged over good food and good conversation.  Everyone knows someone new to the community, whether it’s that new guy at work or the new family who has moved in down the street. 

Take that extra step —  make them feel welcome and invite them to dinner.  If you don’t know anyone, we can help make the connection. You can host a barbecue, arrange a beach picnic or cook a family favourite!

After your dinner, send me the names of all dinner participants and a short description of the event.  Everyone will be invited to Christmas Around the World  at the DesBrisay Museum in December and will be entered in a draw for a dinner for six at  Pizza Delight.   If you win, you and your guests will meet again for a dinner out!
