Climate Change Adaptation Fund

Need some help identifying the potential impacts of climate change on your organization? Have a project idea to make your community better prepared for change? Now in its second year, the Climate Change Adaptation Fund is designed to help Nova Scotians get ready for the impacts of climate change. We have now put out a call for proposals for the 2011 - 2012 year.

Fund Objectives:
The Climate Change Adaptation Fund aims to help Nova Scotia become more resilent to the impacts of climate change. It’s objectives are to:

  • identify and assess the threats and opportunities related to climate change in Nova Scotia; and
  • build Nova Scotia’s capacity to become better suited to new and different climatic conditions.

Funding Amount:
The fund totals $25,000 and any single grant may provide up to 100% of project costs.

Eligibility:
The Adaptation Fund is open to any group or individual including, non-profit organizations, municipalities, universities, and businesses. The Fund is not open to provincial or federal government bodies or agencies.

Deadline:
Proposals for the 2011- 2012 adaptation fund must be submitted by July 29, 2011 at 4pm AST. Proposals which are approved must have all their project work completed by March 31, 2012.
