Regional Asset Mapping Project is Underway
There are a lot of talented businesses in Lunenburg - Queens and we want to help put them on the map! Why?
- A regional Investment Attraction Plan is being developed now
- Up-to-date products, service & skills inventory helps sell the region to expanding markets
- Customers need to know who you are, what you do and where to find you
- Ship-building contract’s supply chain offers lots of opportunities for the South Shore
- Results will be compiled into an online map-based database to support marketing efforts in 2012
Phase One of the Asset Mapping Project focuses on gathering and validating business data in Lunenburg and Queens Counties. In January, researchers will be telephoning businesses in the region's target growth sectors of Manufacturing, Food & Seafood Production, Wood Products, Renewable Energy & Green Technologies, Tourism and the Creative Economy.
The ultimate goal is increased investment, attraction and prosperity for the region. Help us create a strong value proposition to take to market. For more information, please contact us or email mapping@lqrda.ca.

Welcome to the Lunenburg Queens Regional Development Agency
The LQRDA is at an exciting turning point in its development, having recently undertaken a repositioning exercise aimed at establishing a clear and renewed focus. The message that we received from all our stakeholders is clear: “Do fewer things better” and those fewer things must be initiatives that will truly increase economic prosperity and the tax base. Given this, the forward-focus is primarily that of business development and strategic sector development.
This has resulted in an enhanced mandate for the organization:
On behalf of its municipal, provincial and federal stakeholders, the LQRDA fosters business development by focusing our efforts on workforce initiatives and immigration, strategic business retention and expansion activities, supporting foreign and domestic inward investment attraction and supporting community based economic development initiatives of regional significance.
